I feel like the game idea here is pretty cool and has great potential. That said, everything available at start, with only cool-down reductions and enemies seemingly(?) spawning in the same speed wit no big type variation kinda holds it back.

Converted to a classical “incremental” style, where enemies come at you slowly at start and you have to unlock defenses over time with some ind of currency, or a TD style approach where I have set amount of resource to spawn my choice of defense and see if it work would favor the game design.

Graphics are cute, sfx is okay, good job!
